Brahma Video Productions (BVP) is a student-driven media organization dedicated to producing high-quality news, sports, and feature content for Bellville High School and the surrounding community. Our team operates like a professional newsroom, providing hands-on experience in journalism, video production, and digital media. Each role within BVP is designed to give students a structured yet creative environment to develop skills in storytelling, technical production, and content distribution. From anchoring live newscasts to editing video packages and managing social media engagement, every member of BVP plays a vital role in bringing compelling stories to life. These job descriptions outline the responsibilities and expectations for each position, ensuring a collaborative, efficient, and innovative approach to student media.

Executive Producer (Mr. G - Greg Stuessel)

  • Oversees all BVP operations, training, and production standards.
  • Provides guidance, instruction, and final approvals on projects.
  • Works with the student leadership team to ensure smooth workflow.

Senior Producer (Production Manager) – 1-2 Students

  • Manages content planning, story development, and production deadlines.
  • Works directly with the Executive Producer to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Provides feedback and mentorship to reporters, editors, and videographers.

Technical Director – 1 Student

  • Oversees studio operations, live production, and vMix control.
  • Ensures all technical aspects of the show are executed professionally.
  • Trains vMix Operators and Studio Technicians.

Showrunner (Senior Producer for Newscast) – 1-2 Students

  • Directly responsible for the organization and execution of the newscast.
  • Manages anchors, reporters, editors, and videographers.
  • Works with the Technical Director and Senior Producer to meet deadlines.

Managing Editor (Editorial Director for Bellville Herd) – 1 Student

  • Oversees print and digital news production.
  • Assigns and edits articles for accuracy, structure, and journalistic integrity.
  • Ensures a consistent flow of written content.

        vMix Operator (Live Broadcast Engineer) – 1-2 Students

        • Runs vMix software for live production, overlays, and transitions.
        • Works with the Technical Director to maintain smooth show execution.

        Studio Technician (Broadcast Assistant) – 1-2 Students

        • Assists with camera operation, teleprompter control, and studio maintenance.
        • Works with the Technical Director to support live productions.

        On-Air Talent (News Anchor) – Rotating Role

        • Delivers school news, sports, and student features on camera.
        • Works with the Showrunner and Editorial Team to rehearse and refine delivery.

        Teleprompter Operator (Script Coordinator) – 1 Student

        • Manages script flow during live recordings.
        • Works with anchors and producers to ensure smooth script delivery.

        Field Production & Content Development

        Multimedia Journalist (Reporter) – Multiple Students

        • Covers school events, student features, and news stories.
        • Shoots B-roll, conducts interviews, and writes news packages.
        • Works with the Showrunner to refine and develop story angles.

        Cinematographer (Videographer) – Multiple Students

        • Captures footage for news segments, interviews, and creative projects.
        • Works with reporters to ensure proper framing, lighting, and sound.
        • Provides raw footage for editors.

        Video Editor (Post-Production Specialist) – Multiple Students

        • Assembles and edits news packages and feature segments.
        • Works with the Showrunner and Technical Director to finalize video content.
        • Ensures a consistent and professional look across productions.

        Digital & Social Media Team

        Social Media Director – 1 Student

        • Manages BVP’s social media presence, engagement, and branding.
        • Works with producers and reporters to promote upcoming broadcasts and features.
        • Posts behind-the-scenes content, highlights, and interactive stories.
